Episode 60: A Week Full of Double Standards
Available on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, and iHeartRadio.
In this episode, we talk about President Trump’s refusal to concede in spite of the electoral college vote recognizing Vice President Joe Biden as President-Elect. We talk about the double standard of President Trump peddling anti-intellectualism and promoting the notion that academics and people with degrees from highly selective educational institutions are out-of-touch elites even though he and his children are Wharton graduates. We also discuss the Wall Street Journal opinion piece about Dr. Jill Biden’s credentials and point out how women and people of color have their qualifications questioned on a regular basis regardless of how accomplished they are. We end with a discussion on the differing treatments of classism and colorism in reality television as seen on the first episode of the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ reunion.
